NOTE: IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF SAULT STE. MARIE OR PRINCE TOWNSHIP, PLEASE CLICK HERE TO BE TAKEN TO OUR REGULAR SITE.
Please note: This site offers a Criminal Record Check or Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check for employment or volunteer purposes. Welcome to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service's online process for persons needing a police background check. This system allows you to apply for a police background check 24 hours a day without having to attend our facility. All aspects of the process - including verification of your identification, and fee payment - are handled electronically.
Unless you are notified by our Service or follow-up is required, you will receive an email notification to download the results of your record check. Please keep track of your username and password. You will need it again to download your results. You can check your online account for updates.
Please note: We offer a basic Criminal Record Check (CRC) OR Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) for employment and volunteer purposes. However, if you are an Ontario resident, you should apply for a volunteer check through your local police agency, as there is no fee. The Volunteer option on this site is for non-Ontario residents only.
This process is intended for persons living and working in Canada. If you are living/working outside Canada, you should obtain a police check from the RCMP through the submission of fingerprints. Click here for details.
