Please be advised that if you are applying for a Vulnerable Sector Record Check, you do not need to also apply for a basic Police Criminal Record Check (PCRC) or a Police Criminal Records and Judicial Matters Check (PCRJMC). Not all employment or volunteer opportunities are eligible for a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Please note: those under the age of 18 are NOT able to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check. Only applicants under the age of 18 that are applying for any employment in the municipal, provincial or federal government jobs are able to apply for a criminal record check (CRC).

You cannot apply on behalf of another person. Authentication questions will be based on the applicant's personal credit file, and the questions are timed to ensure a prompt response and to further enhance security and privacy. If you fail to authenticate your identification, you will be required to upload photos of your two pieces of valid Government issued identification, one ID with a photo, and take a selfie holding the same two ID provided.

The Police Criminal Records and Judicial Matters Check also includes the first level - basic CRC.

The turnaround period for police record checks is up to TWO (2) WEEKS.

There is no PRIORITY service. Record check applications are processed in the order in which they are received.

If you need an Exempted (Broad) Record Check under the Child, Youth, and Family Services Act (CYFSA) or the Intercountry Adoption Act (IAA), you may use this website.
