Types of Police Record Checks
There are two types of Police Record checks (PCRC and PVSC). The nature and the responsibilities of the position you are applying for will determine which type of check you will require. Police Criminal Record Check (PCRC)
This check is for applications who will NOT be in a position of trust or authority relative to vulnerable persons. Applicants must be 12 years of age or older to apply for this type of check.
Databases checked for a Police Record Check:- Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC)
- RCMP National Repository of Criminal Records
- Winnipeg Police Service Records Management System
- Police Information Portal (PIP)
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) - Non-residents of Winnipeg cannot apply for Vulnerable Sector Check
