Police Record Checks

Welcome to the Winnipeg Police Service's online application system for police record checks. This system allows you to apply for a police record check 24 hours a day without having to attend our facility. All aspects of the process - including verification of your identification, fee payment and completed police record check results certificate - are handled electronically. If there are no concerns or follow-up required, you will receive an email with instructions on how to securely download your police record check certificate.

You cannot apply on behalf of another person. Authentication questions will be based on the applicant's personal credit file, and the questions are timed to ensure a prompt response and to further enhance security and privacy. If you fail to authenticate your ID, you will be required to upload a picture of yourself with your identification to verify identity.

This process is intended for persons living outside Winnipeg City limits. Vulnerable Sector Search requests are not permitted for non-residents of Winnipeg. An additional fee of $75.60 (taxes included) may be charged for taking your fingerprints by the Winnipeg Police Service. Additionally, the RCMP will also charge a $25 admin fee, but will waive this $25 fee if the purpose of the VS check is for a volunteer position. To qualify for the RCMP waiver, the applicant must produce a hard (paper) copy of the letter from the agency on agency letterhead that clearly identifies that the check is required for a volunteer purpose, and it must contain your name and the position that you are volunteering for. This letter must be presented at the time of fingerprinting. If the letter is not presented at the time of fingerprinting, you will be charged the RCMP processing fee.
