Police Information Checks (PIC)

Welcome to the Saanich Police Department's online application system for police information checks. This system allows you to apply for a police information check 24 hours a day without having to attend our department.

Important Information:

Police Information Check fees are non-refundable.
PICs for Employment Purposes: The Applicant MUST be a resident of Saanich
PICs for Volunteer Purposes: The Applicant be a resident of Saanich OR the volunteer agency be located within Saanich
PICs for Adoption Purposes: The Applicant MUST be a resident of Saanich
Making a false statement – such as a non-resident declaring a local address at which they do not currently reside – will result in the discontinuation of application processing and the forfeiture of all monies paid.
Your PIC RESULTS MUST BE STAYING IN CANADA: Police Information Checks are intended for persons living and working in Canada; the results of these checks must remain in Canada. If you are currently living/working outside Canada, you are asked to seek the assistance of the nearest Canadian Embassy or Consulate in your vicinity.
All aspects of the process - including Electronic Identification Verification (EIV) of your identification and fee payment, are handled electronically. If there are no concerns or follow-up or fingerprints required, your official certified, embossed results letter will be mailed to the applicant’s declared Saanich address only. We will not under any circumstances mail the results to a secondary address or a third-party organization or employer.

You cannot apply on behalf of another person. Authentication questions will be based on the applicant's personal credit file, and the questions are timed to ensure a prompt response and to further enhance security and privacy.

NOTE: Due to the online Identity Authentication process, we do not recommend that you use the online process if you:

Have lived in Canada for less than one (1) year, and/or;
Are under the age of twenty-one (21) years, and/or;
Have no established personal credit history - i.e. no credit cards, bank loans, mortgage, etc. - that is required in order to authenticate your ID using EIV

Please be aware of these requirements before creating an account. If you fail to authenticate your identity, we will require you to attend our offices in person with two pieces of ID. No refund will be issued for identity authentication failures.
