Police Background Checks
Dealing with a local police service when conducting a police record check is the most comprehensive approach to ensuring public safety. Local police services, like the Halton Regional Police Service, provide information not included in police record checks that only reference the Federal RCMP CPIC national database.
Verification of Police Check Certificates
Organizations can verify the authenticity of a Police Service certificate by scanning the QR code displayed on the document. The QR code links to access an electronic copy of the certificate, allowing organizations to confirm that the document is valid and has not been altered.
Certificates can also be verified by the Police Service watermark on the certificate or by contacting the applicant to provide an email with the website, document number and PIN so you can directly access the results.
Hardcopy Certificates can be verified by the Police Service watermark and seal on the certificate, and scanning the QR code to access the original results directly from the police.
