This is a non-refundable process.
If you are applying for a vulnerable sector check, you must reside in the City of Barrie - if you are unsure if you fall within the policing jurisdiction of the Barrie Police Service, please call 705-725-7025, ext. 2141 for assistance.
Please be advised that if you are applying for a CRJMC or a VS that you do not need to apply for the CRC for the same position. These checks include the CRC.
Incomplete applications will be 'abandoned' and removed from the processing queue after ninety (90) days.
Ensure you check your junk mail for communication.
Results are delivered back electronically and will be available for 31 days. The Barrie Police Service will notify only the applicant and provide instructions to securely download.
After 31 days, the download is no longer available and you will need to attend the Barrie Police Service Records and Information Management Service to purchase a hard copy for a fee.

Vulnerable Sector Check Please note that the Barrie Police Service must be satisfied that a position meets the requirements of a vulnerable sector check. You may be denied based on the information provided. Please provide a clear explanation of how the position is one of trust and authority over a vulnerable person (relates to physical/mental trust and authority and does not include records confidentiality (i.e. banking or medical records).

There are three levels of record checks available. The type of position you are applying for will determine which type of check you will require. In all cases you should consult with the agency, organization or employer that requires you to obtain a record check to determine which one is needed:

Criminal Records Check (CRC) Intended for applicants who are involved as a volunteer, employee or in any situation where a basic CRC is requested (i.e., retail or immigration). (read more...)
